The last but not least piece is an open balcony. Here we can see a spontaneously appearing piece of Bali with a natural stone wall tiles and and outdoor fountain.

As you relax in the lounge chair or on the bed you can see the combination on the opposite wall. A small study or beauty zone and an electric fireplace.

The master bedroom is another dark and cozy alcove. I've found most of my inspiration for this apartment in Icelandic winter. Imagine volcanic soil, blue ice and Northern forests. Here Nordic motives are the most obvious.

Given the whole Nordic feel and electric fireplace glowing like insides of a volcano the calligraphy art by a local Ukrainian artist looks almost like ancient Icelandic runes.

Secondary bedroom is very graphic — plain black and white, yet with elements of Asian style and brigher spots.

This is far north covered in white snow, with clear ice and glaciers. That is the feeling of this room.

Small details matter.

TV area is as minimalist as it can get and consists only of subtle hues of white.

Dark green curtain, walnut wall panels and dark gray sofa combine into a cozy alcove.

Connecting with the dining area there is open kitchen and lounge areas. Here you can have a quick snack or prepare a meal while talking with your kids or guests chilling on the sofa.

View to the kitchen from the lounge area. Overall dark hues are contrasted by pure white elements, spiced up by blue and turquoise splashes and warmed up by saturated wood and gold.

Maintaining the overall minimalist look while maximizing storage and functional space in the kitchen was another challenge. Here the space is dominated by luxurious onyx wall tiles with nothing hiding them from your eyes but white extraction hood over the cook top. Everything else is built into the black cabinets which take up the whole wall.

Large burnt walnut wall panel dominates and connects the dining area to create as cozy alcove as possible given the initial conditions. Bold blue color was chosen consciously to further draw the attention in to the table itself instead of abundance of doors and other connected areas. If expanded, this table can be up to 6 feet long and house even the largest family for the dinner.

With no windows of its own for the dining area I went for open floor plan to connect it with kitchen/lounge area and sliding transparent glass divider for the study room. If necessary the table can be converted into a compact console leaving a lot of open space for potential parties. White wall to the right of the console is not a wall actually but a sliding door to the storage/laundry room.

Original layout of the apartment included a large corridor area right in the center of the plan. In order to use the space in the most efficient way I decided to convert this otherwise useless space into a dining area. It was a very challenging task because being the very center the diving area was surrounded by 8 different areas, and 4 of them had to be behind doors. Out of remaining 4 here you can see the same laser cut divider between the hall and the entry area.

The first thing you see upon entering the apartment is a laser cut nature inspired room divider. It separates the entry area from the rest of the apartment while letting in as much natural light as possible.

Study room is dominated by a vintage Danish modern chair and large white glossy desk, the rest is mainly hues of gray.

Luxurious crystal and metal black retro chandelier elevates basic glass/metal elements from Ikea. The armchair can be converted into a guest bed and curtains can be drawn over the glass sliding doors for more privacy.

Secondary bathroom is very basic but follows the overall style of the apartment.

Italian wall tiles combine with natural stone floor mosaic near the bathtub.

Minimalist main bathroom with more metal/loft elements and pieces of Orientalism that leaked through from my other project which I was working on at the same time.
